Wallace, Louisiana - The Whitney Plantation, a sugar plantation that has been turned into a museum to tell the story of slavery. Sculptured heads on poles remind visitors of an 1811 slave revolt. Participants in that revolt were decapitated, and their heads were placed on poles as a warning to others. © Jim West/reportdigital.co.uk Tel 01789-262151/07831-121483 info@reportdigital.co.uk www.reportdigital.co.uk NUJ recommended terms & conditions apply.
