Children and parents and housing protesters occupy a community nursery in Barnet after it was closed to make way for a council estate redevelopment. The nursery was occupied after it was closed in protest against Barnet councils plans to demolish 400 council homes at Dollis Valley estate and sell off the land for £11m to build new private and social housing. The driver for Newham mayor Robin Wales forces his car through protestors outside the town hall in East London. Protestors from the Focus E15 Mothers group wanted to attend the council meeting to raise their concerns over housing and the abandoned Carpenters Estate where 600 home lay empty. At East Ham town hall they found the doors to the public gallery locked. Protestors tried to stop Mayor Wales leaving so the mothers could talk with him.
